Advanced International Mini-Invasive Surgery
AIMS Academy (the first multidisciplinary structure in Italy dedicated to research and training in minimally invasive advanced surgery, third pole of an European network with Strasbourg and Guildford. The program includes demonstrations of laparoscopic surgery, theory sessions and practice sessions made of simulations in the wet lab.
Niguarda is an European training school adopting the advanced system of the hybrid room that performs delicate surgeries in an accurate and minimally invasive way.
The Niguarda Echocardiography Laboratory has high quality standards of practice and equipment. It has been fully accredited for competence in performing transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography by both Italian Echo Society and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
Outpatient and inpatient echocardiography studies are routinely performed using state-of-the-art equipment. The echo machines are equipped with transthoracic and transoesophageal probe, and dedicated softwares for advanced analysis (LV and RV 3D, valve packages, strain).
The Echolab offers e training programs, and it is a host center for fellowships and meetings.
Niguarda Faculty of Nursing
Niguarda is a University Teaching Center for Nursing (Università degli Studi di Milano).
The main international cooperation projects in which Niguarda is involved concerning the management of the emergency trauma (Brasil, Romania), transplant programs (China, Lebanon, Jordan), the cardiology area (Bulgaria, Eritrea), nuclear medicine (Malaysia) and diabetes research (Miami).
