“Since the 50’s the department has a long history of innovation when it launched Italian thoracic surgery, cardiosurgery, cardiac surgery and modern cardiology. Excluding the conventional therapies of all cardiovascular pathologies it’s recognized for excellence in valvular heart disease surgery, in treatment of coronary disease, in treatment of complex congenital heart disease and in the multidisciplinary approach in very high risk surgical patients. Advanced cardiac insufficiency is tackled with diverse surgical procedures, with ventricular assist devices or transplant.”

• Comprehensive maternal-fetal counselling for mothers expecting cardiopathic children
